The International Journal of Ayush Darpan (IJAD) is a newly established, international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published from Carmel, Indiana, United States.

The journal’s editorial structure is currently being developed. At present, the confirmed editorial leadership consists of the Founder and Editor-in-Chief. Managing Editors, Associate Editors, Section Editors, Editorial Board members, and Advisory Board members will be added after their qualifications have been verified and their written consent has been received.

The journal will not publish the name, credentials, affiliation, photograph, or contact information of any editorial member without that individual’s permission.

Editorial Mission

The editorial leadership of the International Journal of Ayush Darpan strives to:

• Promote high-quality scholarly research in Ayurveda, Yoga, and AYUSH systems

• Support responsible research in complementary and integrative health

• Maintain the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the publication process

• Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers and healthcare professionals

• Support emerging researchers without compromising scholarly or ethical standards

• Connect traditional knowledge with appropriate contemporary scientific methods

• Maintain editorial independence and confidentiality

• Promote evidence-informed and ethically responsible scholarly communication

Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for:

• Establishing the journal’s mission, scope, and editorial direction

• Conducting or assigning the initial screening of submitted manuscripts

• Evaluating submissions for relevance, originality, quality, and ethical compliance

• Selecting independent reviewers with appropriate subject expertise

• Managing the peer-review process

• Protecting the confidentiality of authors and reviewers

• Evaluating reviewer recommendations

• Making or appropriately delegating editorial decisions

• Managing conflicts of interest

• Addressing complaints, appeals, corrections, and allegations of misconduct

• Overseeing the timely and consistent publication of accepted manuscripts

• Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record

Editorial decisions will be based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological appropriateness, ethical compliance, relevance to the journal’s scope, and independent peer-review recommendations.

Peer-Review Oversight

Manuscripts that successfully complete initial editorial screening will ordinarily be evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process.

Original research articles, clinical studies, systematic reviews, and review articles will normally be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise.

Reviewers will be selected according to their:

• Academic or professional qualifications

• Subject-matter expertise

• Research or clinical experience

• Ability to provide an objective assessment

• Absence of relevant conflicts of interest

Reviewer recommendations are advisory. The Editor-in-Chief or an independently assigned editor is responsible for the final editorial decision.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions will be made independently and will not be influenced by publication charges, advertisers, sponsors, donors, commercial interests, personal relationships, or institutional pressure.

The Editor-in-Chief must disclose and appropriately manage any personal, professional, academic, institutional, or financial conflict of interest.

If the Editor-in-Chief has a conflict involving a submitted manuscript, the manuscript will be assigned to an independent qualified editor or external academic expert. The Editor-in-Chief will not participate in the final decision.

Manuscripts Submitted by the Editor-in-Chief

A manuscript written or co-written by the Editor-in-Chief will not be evaluated or accepted solely by the Editor-in-Chief.

Such a manuscript must:

• Be assigned to an independent qualified editor or academic expert

• Undergo independent peer review

• Be evaluated according to the same standards applied to other submissions

• Include an appropriate conflict-of-interest disclosure

• Receive a final decision without the involvement of the Editor-in-Chief

This procedure is intended to preserve editorial independence and prevent preferential treatment.

Editorial Structure Under Development

The International Journal of Ayush Darpan is developing a multidisciplinary editorial structure that may include the following positions:

Managing Editor

The Managing Editor will coordinate manuscript processing, author and reviewer communication, publication scheduling, recordkeeping, and journal administration.

Associate Editors

Associate Editors will manage submissions within their areas of expertise, identify qualified reviewers, evaluate reviewer reports, and provide editorial recommendations.

Section Editors

Section Editors will oversee subject-specific areas such as Ayurveda, Yoga, herbal medicine, public health, research methodology, and complementary and integrative health.

Editorial Board Members

Editorial Board members will be qualified academicians, researchers, clinicians, educators, and professionals who may contribute to manuscript evaluation, policy development, reviewer identification, and the journal’s scholarly development.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board may include experienced national and international scholars who provide strategic guidance concerning scientific quality, publication ethics, research integrity, and the journal’s academic development.

Appointment of Editorial Members

Future editorial appointments will be based on:

• Verified academic or professional qualifications

• Relevant subject expertise

• Research, teaching, editorial, or clinical experience

• Professional integrity

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Availability to perform editorial responsibilities

• Willingness to disclose conflicts of interest

• Written consent to serve on the journal

Editorial positions will not be offered solely in exchange for payment, publication, manuscript submission, promotional support, recommendation letters, or other personal benefits.

International Representation

The International Journal of Ayush Darpan welcomes future participation from qualified scholars, researchers, clinicians, and educators in the United States and other countries.

The journal values diversity in academic disciplines, professional backgrounds, research methodologies, geographical representation, and traditional and contemporary health perspectives.

International editorial representation will be claimed only after qualified international members have formally accepted their appointments and authorized publication of their information.
